  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (any color)
  • 1 cup canned tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Burger buns (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for about 5 minutes until fully cooked.
  2. Add the chopped onion and diced bell pepper; sauté for about 3 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard; mix well.
  4. Season with salt and pepper; let the mixture simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
  5. Toast your burger buns under a broiler or in a toaster.
  6. Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture onto the toasted buns and serve hot.
