Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. Melt unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and nutty. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry mixture to wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese with sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Spread half of the cookie dough in the greased pan; layer cream cheese mixture on top. Dot remaining cookie dough over the cream cheese and sprinkle chocolate chips.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown on top. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
