  • 2 lbs russet or Yukon gold potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup panko bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Wash, peel, and thinly slice the potatoes (about 1/8 inch thick).
  3. Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour half of the heavy cream and half of the cheese on top. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  4. Top with panko bread crumbs for added crunch.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
