  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 1 cup frozen peas (thawed)
  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  3. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  4. Punch down the dough, divide into 8 pieces, and shape each piece into pretzels.
  5. Boil a pot of water with baking soda. Boil each pretzel for about 30 seconds on each side before transferring back to the baking sheet.
  6. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
