Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract.
  4. Stir in red food coloring until the batter is evenly colored.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined; do not over-mix.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough into balls, roll in powdered sugar, and place on prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until edges are set but centers remain soft.
