  • Begin by slicing your thick-cut sourdough bread into generous pieces. Chop the dill pickles finely, then pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  • Cut the dill havarti cheese into 1/4-inch slabs for even melting.
  • On a clean board, place one slice of bread, layer half of the cheese, add the chopped dill pickles evenly, and top with the remaining cheese. Place the second slice of bread on top.
  • Spread about 1 tablespoon of salted butter on the outer sides of the sandwich.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Place your sandwich into the skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes per side.
  • Remove the sandwich from the skillet, add dill pickle chips for extra crunch, slice diagonally, and enjoy while hot.

Notes

Ensure to pat dry the chopped dill pickles to avoid a soggy sandwich. Customize your choice of cheese and bread for unique flavors.
