Ingredients

For the Dip

  • 1 cup Sour Cream Substitution: Greek yogurt can provide extra protein with a similar texture.
  • 1 cup Fresh Basil Note: Fresh oregano can be used for a different herbal note.
  • 8 oz Fresh Mozzarella Cheese Note: For a richer texture, try burrata instead.
  • 1 cup Shredded Provolone Cheese Substitution: Cheddar cheese creates a sharper taste.
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese Note: Use Pecorino Romano for a saltier option.
  • 2 cups Cherry Tomatoes Note: Heirloom tomatoes can serve as a delightful variation.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil Substitution: Avocado oil or grapeseed oil works well if preferred.

Instructions

How to Make Tomato Mozzarella Caprese Dip

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and position the rack in the middle for even cooking.
  • Toss halved cherry tomatoes with olive oil and spread them on a baking sheet. Roast for about 20 minutes until they are soft and slightly charred.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream and freshly chopped basil to create a zesty and aromatic base.
  • Stir in fresh mozzarella, provolone, and grated parmesan cheeses until well combined.
  • Gently fold roasted tomatoes into the cheese mixture and top with remaining halved cherry tomatoes.
  • Return to the oven for another 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
  • Sprinkle fresh basil on top before serving hot with crusty bread, chips, or crackers.

Notes

Optional: Drizzle with balsamic glaze just before serving for an extra layer of flavor.
